FRACTURE MANAGEMENT (TRAUMA )

Fractures are very painful conditions where minimal movement at fracture site will cause extreme pain. Patient wont allow us to even touch that area. The part will be swollen, become red. Initial management includes giving support to fracture with POP / SPLINT. Simple X – RAY will show the fracture nature. some fractures don,t need any surgery except plaster, few require manipulation and POP and the major one require surgery to fix the fracture.

MANAGEMENT WITHOUT SURGERY

Fractures with minimal displacement can be managed with plaster. These are more helpful in children with fractures. best method of treatment for fractures in children.

MANAGEMENT WITH SURGERY

Fractures with displacement have to be managed by fixing with plating or nailing. fixation will give better stabilization and early movement at joint and limb. this will help in better and early healing. Young people requires proper alignment of bones, otherwise this malunion lead to loss of strength.
